  REVELATION

As a child I had many questions on my mind,
Answers to which were hard to find.
Whom to ask was a difficult task.

When my curiosity made me burst,
I tried my mother first.
“where did I come from?"
she answered me with a frown:
Why the stork dropped you down,
The one that’s on the roof overhead.
You landed neatly on my bed.

That story did not seem true to me.
I thought, let’s wait a while and then I’ll see.

Next I questioned my older brother.
He told me, mother and father are lovers
They did some hocus-pocus under the covers.
Not my parents, I shouted it flat,
They would never do a thing like that!

At last my sister took pity on me.
She showed me a book of medical history
From semen to embryo I could see.
That was revelation on childbirth for me!
