Rome 2001
On October 14, 2001, the Holocaust Requiem was performed in the Basilica
di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in the Piazza Republica in Rome,
a basilica used for State as well as Vatican occasions. This was an ecumenical
event, described on the USA PBS television as an “historical landmark”,
attended by several Cardinals and Archbishops, Jewish dignitaries, and
Ambassadors including the American, Mr. James Nicholson, who hosted the
Reception. The event was billed as “Un Concerto per la Pace e il
Dialogo Interreligioso”.
